NY: Are you Fela:ing tomorrow?

Dudsters.

Lat night I finally saw the SNL with Betty White, she did a good job. Big up to her... especially in the Hispanic version of ...(omg what's his name...I can't remember... the man that was taking up the screen the same era as Ricky Lake )...confrontational-reality television. ANYHOW! tomorrow it's a celebration @ BrooklynBowl. The Fela! cast is celebrating the recored release. On the turntables you can find ?estlve, OP! and Dhundee. More info go to the okayplayer site.

THE competition of the year...

Babes.

As almost all NY:er knows, the small dogs have a firm paw on the city. Especially in Upper West area. This dog-competition, that's taking place in a hardware store's window on 78th and Amsterdam, is taking the price...it's a dress-your-dog-up-thing. Who can not love the pup in the Darth Vader outfit... especially when he's hoarsely saying '...Master, I'm your father'.

44 Doug E's, 1 winter and iguanas...

Darlings.
Last night I went to Bedford to see Douge E Fresh (and his son).I've only heard rumors prior...that events in Brooklyn can boil beyond the point of melting, and yesterday was the first time I got to experience it in a real patriotic way (I've been to clubnights where this exists...but it is something special when your sitting next to a 100 families -that you don't know- and they are screaming 'Bed Stuy' for all that they got) People - oldies, younges, women, men, children, teens where dancing and enjoying the musical lesson that he put on. As I wrote to Alex earlier on FB Doug E Fresh was more hosting instead of beat-boxing (that's his forte, for all you that didn't know) for an hour (btw what's up with all these retro-lessons that everyone is doing live now days. I don't mind them... It's just a huuuuuuuge trend right now, any concert you go to. There is a long retro segment involved somehow.). He did beatbox a couple of minutes and included 44 off these...

...after that Blyth had to go to a studio in W-burg, on our way there we found a house that loves ... Christmas I suppose....
... The video she and the other guys are making atm includes iguanas. And last night it was time for 2 superstars to be filmed. Here's Blyth with one...(observe that he refused to let go of the plastic bag for this photo...what he wants, he gets... worms, lettuce be glued to a plastic bag.)
(Because I don't drink beer) me and the captain took a trip down memory-lane and ended up in the fr**king hard-lemonade scene....omg..I don't think I've had one since the end of the 90's...(I can't say that my body is to happy about that choice today). We ended up at Blyth's where I played her some new music and she chased mosquitos around the kitchen/living room by launching a heavy book up in the celling.

A Spa in Queens...

Doll-faces.

How are you today? I'm good, went for my walk, a meditation had breakfast super late...but it's all good. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to spend most of my day at SpaCastle in Queens. Saunas, indoor and outdoor pools, realx areas, sleeping areas, manicures, korean food, american food a lot of of everything. A total recommendation to check out.
